Wahp Tourney!!!
The day started bright and early at 8:30 this morning. We played Bismarck State and we came out strong. But sadly we lost the game in 3 sets. This made us all really disappointed and mad. The next game was right after against Ridgewater. We were defeated also. I think we are all getting sick of losing because every person on our team is amazing and we have the ability to beat these teams we face. We need to learn how to finish a game in top and never let up. We also need to learn how to shake-off mistakes and not let them take over our game. We won our next two games against Morris and HCC. Even though we won we need to play all the way through a game. We need to let the other team make the mistakes instead of making a lot ourselves and playing at their level. We also need to keep the energy up!! If we make these few changes we can become unstoppable because we want to make our goal of going to nationals. Keep pushing ladies!!!

Battle of The Rivals

We met at the school at 8:45am, loaded up the bus and left by 9:00am. It was about an 8 hour bus ride. We stopped in Minot to eat some breakfast and then continued on our way. We arrived in Wahpeton at about 5:30 and checked into our hotel. We got back on the bus at 5:50 and headed to the gym. We started warming up at about 6:00. The game started at 7:00 they took the first set 25 - 19. We came back and took the second set 25 - 13. We started the third set with lots of excitement. However, we lost it 26 - 24. The fourth set was an unfortunate start as we ended up far behind. As the gamed neared the end we picked it up and fought back ,but it was too late. We lost it 25 - 19. Tomorrow is a new day and we are determined to make it a better one.

Record = 3-0

We came out at our second home game fired up, ready to go with new confidence in each other. Taking our trip to Florida made us realize actually how good we are when we put all of our strenghs and skills together.
Going into our first game tonight against Bismark, we started off strong with great passes, awesome sets and amazing kills. This took us to end of the game winning 25 to 19. Going into the second game we got to comfortable and lost our intensity we had in our first game. We came up short in this game losing 14 to 25. Heading into the third game we knew that we needed to change our attidudes and outlooks on this game. We started to pick up the pase and get our intensity level back up. We carried it all the way to the end winning 25 to 20. Going into the fourth game we knew we still has many things to work on, but were ready to play our hearts out and finish the match. The game went back and forth, both teams fighting for every point. As the game came to an end we pulled through and won 25-23.
After the end of the game, we still realized we have a long season ahead of us and a lot more to work on and improve. We are up for the challenge and ready to dominate!

Second day of games in FLORIDA!

We started off our games by playing Brevard Community College. We changed the line-up a little to begin with. Everyone adjusted fairly well to the change. The intensity and communication was better than any other game we've played. After 4 games, we won the last set 28 to 26. Kelsey closed the game with an ACE!

After our first game, we played Florida Community College-Jacksonville. They are a D1 junior college. They are ranked 16th in the nation with one loss. Although we wanted to be their second loss, we fell short, losing in 3. It was a tough battle and we played hard, but just couldn't finish the volleys.

Both teams were very challenging and competitive. Although it sucks losing, these games are only going to make us better in the end.

Minot State Scrimmage

September 10th we scrimmaged Minot State University in Minot. We played three 20 minute games against them and there was no score being kept. We started off the first game with our regular lineup, and if we were keeping score, a lot of us felt that we would have beat MSU. It was a great opportunity for us to work on the things we have been struggling with. In our last game coach changed the line up again and gave all of the girls a chance to play. It was great to be able to scrimmage Minot because they gave us good competition and a chance to work everything out. Signing off.

After a long van ride to minot and a plane ride to jacksonville the lady tetons arrived at the hotel eager to see the sunshine state. Tuesday morning we gathered into the van and headed to panama city. The weathe was hot and muggy as we played on the beach. Wednesday it was time to play. Coach told us before we left north dakota that this trip is for volleyball. We walked into the gym with our game faces on, and ready to show southen girls that we knew how to play volleyball. The first game against jefferson davis community college went extremely well. We played awesome as a team and talked alot. After beating jdcc in three we faced off with gulf coast community college of panama city. The first game we came out slow losing 13 to 25. However we didn't give up, the next two games where a fight to the finish. We matched up pretty evenly however came out losing 23 - 25 in the last two games. Even though we may have lost we ae always improving. I think it is safe to say we are all excited for our next games in jacksonville on friday. Signing off

First Home Game

We played Bottineau at our first home game and we beat them 3-0. At first, we started out a bit slow, but we picked it up quickly and came back to win the set 25-15. The next set we came out strong and took them 25-11 and in the third set we won 25-8. Our serving was a huge factor in our overall play, as we had a lot of aces. Our blocking and defense also played a large role in the game. All in all, we played really well together but still can improve on communication. We also had a really large crowd that helped us to get pumped up so we would like to thank them for coming out and supporting us!

Game at Glendive vs. Dawson Community College

On Tuesday, September 8th, the lady tetons traveled in our 15 passenger van to Glendive, Montana. With mother (Coach Lindsey) in the driver seat, and coach Rita Ann in the passenger seat, we all jammed out to our pre-game music on the way, trying to get everyone mentally prepared. After the 2 hour trip, we were ready to start the game.

The first set started off very strong. Our defense and offense were both consistent. We played more like a team than we ever have, ending the set with a 25-10 win. The next set got a little more competitive as we fought back and forth with them. Missing a few serves, and having a few serve receiver errors caused us to end in a 25-19 win. The third and final set was better in all aspects of the game. It started off very strong and continued throughout all the players. All players of our team contributed greatly leading us to another victory!

Coach thought we played so well that we stopped at a gas station and were able to get candy and pop. (Doesn't happen very often) :)

September 5th, 2009
Today we left Powell, Wyoming at 5 a.m. to drive to Sheridan, Wyoming, where we played our first game at 10 a.m. against Great Falls J.V. Our first set was a close game but we pulled ahead winning it 25 t0 23. In the second set it was again a close game but fell short and lost the set 19 to 25. In the third set it was a race to the finish and Great Falls came out with the set winning it 26 to 24. In the fourth set we came back and won the set 25 to 19. Now, finally it was the fifth set and both teams pushed to the end. With to many errors on our part Great Falls took the win 15 to 12.
Our second game was at 4 p.m. against Sheridan, Wyoming. In the first set it was a great game but Sheridan came out with the win 25 to 19. In the second set we came out fighting again but Sheridan came out with the win again 25 to 17. In the third we were determined to win and thats exactly what we did and won the set 25 to 17. The fourth set we seemed to run out of gas and lost the set 14 to 25.
Although the weekend didnt go as we planned. We learned many things that we need to work on and will improve on in the future.

Back to the WYO!!!

As we all loaded back on the bus to head to Wyoming, we all had one thing on our minds...to play hard and keep improving. After the six hour drive we made it to Powell, Wyoming. We entered the Northwestern gym and all knew we had to step it up and play way better games this time around. We started warm-up and were all feeling confident and ready to go. The refs blew the whistle signaling the start of the first game. We battled back and forth with them but we came up short handed and lost 19-25. We then started the second game not quite as strong losing 10-25. We all knew we had to get it together and play like a team having each others back at all times. We started the third game and played with the division 1 school. It went back and forth between both teams. There were no easy balls both teams were fighting for their points. We all noticed improvements in our communication which made us feel more confident about every ball we touched. There were many good plays but we didn't pull through and end it in our favor. The last game ended 19-25. We all left with our heads up, knowing that we still had two games that we needed to fight for.
